Aims of Student Guidance and Discipline Service

Entering the new Millennium, the new student guidance service is to build a comprehensive and developmental guidance system at school. Forming an integral part of education in its wholeness, this new guidance and discipline system will work closely with other sub-systems at school. In close partnership with all the staff, parents and members of the community, the guidance and discipline personnel provide comprehensive guidance and discipline service to students in order to help them achieve whole-person development and life-long learning. There will be an all-round development of students in their moral, cognitive, physical, social and artistic build-up. Moreover, they will also develop self-learning attitude, critical thinking, creativity and adaptability so as to meet with life challenges.

Principles of Student Guidance and Discipline Service

 

  • Humanistic and Student-centered perspectives
  • To formulate of School Guidance Policy
  • To cater for the developmental needs of students and respecting individual differences of students
  • To design and develop various learning, guidance and discipline sessions/ activities in a gradual and progressive approach with reference to the developmental needs of students.
  • To Collaborate of different sub-systems
  • To enhance team spirit, common vision, mutual support and communication among teachers in implementing the student guidance and discipline service.
  • To establish a mechanism for consultation and support to teachers in handling student problems.
  • To promote home-school cooperation and develop parent education.
  • To establish a crisis management team and formulate appropriate working procedures and measures of handling school crisis.
  • To evaluate and monitor student guidance service
